Construction Induction White Card

Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry [CPCCWHS1001]

This training is frequently referred to as the Green or White Card or Construction Induction training.

To work on any construction site in Australia you must have a current OHS Construction Induction certificate, the 'National White Card'.

In NSW WHS construction induction training is delivered through Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and approved by SafeWork NSW.

The Workplace Safety Centre's Construction Induction training is conducted under the auspices and in partnership with Allens Training Pty Ltd [RTO 90909] in partial completion of CPCC10107 Certificate I in Construction

When is the training held?

Public training courses are run weekly at our training rooms in St Marys. Training is held on Friday one week and Saturday the following week. See our training calendar for dates

The course starts at 8.30am and normally finishes at approximately 4pm.

How much does the training cost?

The course cost is $110 - this includes the $22 SafeWork NSW application fee.

Proof of Identity is required

SafeWork NSW requires that that all people complete an Evidence of Identity (EOI) form and provide original documents showing their

  • name
  • photo
  • date of birth, and
  • current address

to the value of 100 points to the trainer prior to commencing the course. Click here for additional information about Proof of Identity documents.

Special provisions have been made for proof of identity for school students, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, & people from overseas who have been in Australia for less than six weeks. Information about POI Special Provisions can be found here.

What does the training involve?

The 'White Card' training is a one-day course which covers

  • Work Health & Safety legal requirements

  • Construction hazards and the way they can be controlled to prevent injury to people 

  • Work Health & Safety communication and reporting processes 

  • Work Health & Safety incident response procedures

Participants who successfully complete the written assessment and practical group exercises receive a Statement of Training which acts as an interim White Card for 60 days until the actual White Card has been processed and dispatched by SafeWork NSW

Participants also receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry in partial completion of COCC10107 Certificate I in Construction.
